Yes! New clients are always welcome at Essence of Jillizm. We recommend scheduling a complimentary consultation first so Jill can assess your hair, understand your goals, and recommend the best starter method for your unique texture and lifestyle.
A consultation is required for new clients. A $25 deposit is required and will be deducted from your service. During the consultation, Jill will evaluate your hair's density, texture, and health, and walk you through which starter method is
Come with clean, freshly washed, and fully detangled hair. Avoid applying any heavy oils, butters, or products before your appointment. If you already have locs, arrive with them detangled and free of excessive buildup. Jill will take care of the rest!
Starter loc appointments can range from 3 to 8+ hours depending on your hair's length, density, and the method chosen. Maintenance appointments are typically 1.5 to 3 hours. Jill will give you a more precise estimate during your consultation.
It depends on the current state of your hair. Heavily relaxed hair can be more fragile and may require a transition period before starting locs. Color-treated hair is generally fine. Jill will assess your hair during the consultation and advise on the safest path forward.
